A-Level Photography Lecturer

Telford, Shropshire

18.5 hours per week - temporary position available for September

£25-£28 per hour

Protocol is working with a client who are seeking a creative and inspiring A-Level Photography Lecturer to join our successful Art & Design department. You will deliver high-quality teaching across A-Level Photography, supporting students to develop technical skills, creativity, and critical understanding in both digital and traditional photographic practices.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with motivated learners, guiding them in building strong portfolios for higher education and careers in the creative industries.

  • Plan and deliver engaging A-Level Photography lessons aligned with exam board specifications (e.g. AQA, OCR, Edexcel)
  • Teach a range of photographic techniques, including studio work, digital editing, and darkroom processes (where applicable)
  • Support students in developing personal, creative projects and portfolios
  • Provide constructive feedback, monitor progress, and prepare students for assessments and exhibitions
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management and health and safety (including equipment use)
  • Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities (e.g. trips, exhibitions, competitions)
  • Track and record student achievement in line with awarding body requirements
  • Promote progression into higher education and creative careers

Requirements:

  • Hold a relevant qualification in A-Level Photography or similar subject.
  • Has substantial industry and teaching experience within the A-Level Photography.
  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification and is passionate about teaching and supporting students.
  • Hold a DBS on the update service (or be willin to apply for a new one ahead of September).
